Goals of North Little Rock History Commission
"This old steam engine from the 1870s was a common site as North Little Rock, historically known as Argenta, grew up around the railroads and related industries in the late 19th century."
- To maintain a reference library of the source material of North Little Rock and present through exhibits, presentations, outreach programs, and other media.
- To collect, preserve, record, and interpret for public benefit, important and significant specimens and artifacts, relevant to history in this state, with special emphasis on those relevant or otherwise important to the people and the City of North Little Rock .
- To ensure the preservation of artifacts, materials, records, and other items of historical significance to the City of North Little Rock .
- To promote, assist, and perform scholarly research on subjects relevant to the Commission's mission and collections.
